For me, House has always been about sexy, driving tribal beats and a catchy hook. Now the current is pulling tunes from Electro to the deeper, sexier waters of Progressive and there are just so many tunes to choose from! One of the masters from Spain, David Penn, keeps rolling out super cool cross-over vocal tracks including ‘Revolution’ with Daren J Bell’s vocals defying anyone to stay sitting in their chairs and the brilliant ‘Set Me Free’ complete with Sheyle Cuffy’s perfectly harmonized hook and classic House piano chords. Each do the business.

Chocolate Puma’s brand new ‘Morning Rain’ is set to be a true House anthem and I’ll be caning this in my sets, on my Radio Show (and living room too!).

In the last year I’ve been as busy in the studio as I have been behind the decks, so playing my own productions and collaborations out has been very rewarding. Kathy Brown vs. White Knights ‘Sound of the City’ finally gets it’s official release on Champion Records, which I’m very proud of. When I was 21 years old I did a mail out of some demo tracks I created on my ‘4 Track’ to various record labels. (I’m definitely showing my age with that ‘4 Track reference!) I went for a meeting with the A&R guy at Champion Records who told me he liked my stuff although he felt I should get with a writing partner.

Eventually I did exactly that with Jason Gardiner and the label signed us. It only took me 13 years to do it! (Definitely showing my age there!) Champion have just signed our ‘Replay’ complete with Belle Erskine’s fantastic vocals as a follow up single. The tracks may not be due out until 2009 but I’m enjoying previewing them in my sets at the moment.

Steve Thomas and I have also been busy in the studio with our latest ‘Neva’ out on www.axistrax.com With more studio ventures in the pipeline, Steve and myself have also been playing Back2Back DJ sets. these have been taking the Techier approach that works especially well at Egg, Trade, London. And with future gigs planned working with ‘Cream’ Spain the future is looking good. Enjoy.
