Trade Future
A farewell to Turnmills

Trade Future

Friday, 8 February 2008

A change is on the horizon as Trade moves on to the future. For seventeen years Trade has made clubbing history and 2008 will be no different as Lawrence Malice announces Trade’s next move. “When I first came across Turnmills, it wasn’t anything like the club you see today. There was a grand piano, a stainless steel dance floor, wine barrels above the bar and a carvery at the back of the dance floor. Times change, as has Turnmills over the years, offering a new aspect to the club each time. This suited Trade from start to finish, with our ever-evolving monster of a club night. It’s that time again and with a heavy heart I must announce that Turnmills will cease to be as of the end of Easter.” He continues “To have been associated so closely with a building in which I achieved and accomplished so many of my dreams and clubbing aspirations (Trade, FF, Beyond, Toxic Disco 2000, Space and Pumping Curls) it makes me realize just how lucky I was to have been in the right place at the righttime. Alas, the world moves on and progress is imperative in the machinations of life.” But as you’d expect from a man whose clubs have never stood still Malice has a creative clubbing eye on the future. “I am proud to announce that Trade will move forward with a fresh, bold approach; remolded for the 21st century, with new management, inspirational ideas and exciting concepts aimed at welcoming and bringing onboard the next generation of Trade Babies.”

And as for the end of this Trade chapter? Laurence has one hell of a farewell planned. “After further discussions with Turnmills, it has become clear that with so many ‘sell out” events at Turnmills over Easter it would not be practical to run Trade After-Hours over the Easter weekend. Therefore in order to offer the quality event expected for this historic occasion, it has been decided to move the event to the week before Easter. The confirmed date is now Saturday night / Sunday morning March 15th / 16th from 5am until late.” Here at RCN we could say expect the usual – but Trade is anything but usual. Laurence promises a celebration of “seventeen frenetic years of TRADE clubbing, encompassing the past, the present and the future. The party will bring together all that Trade is world famous for; huge production, astounding visuals and the largest non-stop DJ line up that Trade has ever employed.” Something you know he will deliver. See you on the dancefloor.
