Soho Pride 2008 : Soho Square...
review
Soho Square and the surrounding streets were once again packed as they gays, lesbians, bisexual, trans and their friends descended on the city centre.
The bars got busier and busier throughout the afternoon with staff struggling to keep our plastic cups topped up, and the sun put in an appearance a few times which was very welcome.
Soho Square itself, or 'Camp Gaydar' as it had been renamed for the day, had a line-up of top DJs and PAs playing on the Gaydarradio Stage throughout the afternoon.
With the mayor's funding withdrawn the event was funded entirely by the businesses and the sponsors of the event and through volunteer bucket shakers who patrolled the streets and stuck stickers on everyone who'd made a donation.
Whether or not there'll be enough in the pot to stage the event again next year remains to be seen.
Many (MANY!) more photos from our trusty contributors to follow, but we figured we should get a few up as soon as we could to whet your appetites!
